Puppy Training Class
Level 1
Puppy Life Skills
12-week Course for Puppies up to 6 months of age (that are fully vaccinated), including a 2 hour Recap Workshop after the course
Raising a puppy can feel overwhelming, there’s so much advice out there, and it’s hard to know what really matters. This course is designed to guide you through every stage, giving you the tools, confidence, and support you need to raise a calm, confident, and well-mannered companion.
What’s Included
12 Weeks of Learning and Support
- 1 Class on Zoom — Start training from home right away! You’ll learn how to set up good habits before your puppy even steps into the classroom.
- 10 In-Hall Classes — Build skills in a safe, supportive environment with other puppies and owners.
- 1 Real-World Class — Put your training into practice in real-life locations like a park, café, or pet shop.
- 3 Months of Puppy Support
No question will be left unanswered! You’ll have a trainer in your back pocket for guidance between classes, plus a supportive community of other puppy owners to share your wins (and struggles) with.
This isn’t a one-off class, it’s a complete journey where you’ll progress each week and see your puppy’s confidence grow in real time.
What You’ll Learn
Confidence Building
How to raise a puppy who feels safe, secure, and happy, whether home alone or exploring the outside world.
Socialisation
Discover how to introduce your puppy to new sights, sounds, people, and dogs in the right way, setting them up for lifelong confidence.
Appropriate Greetings
Teach your puppy how to greet politely, no more jumping, biting, or over-the-top excitement. Learn to understand what your puppy is really saying through body language.
Loose Lead Walking
Avoid frustration and pulling by learning the right way to build great walking habits early on including what to do when your puppy freezes or refuses to move.
Recall (Coming When Called)
Build a recall that sticks. You’ll learn how to make coming back to you the best decision your puppy can make giving them the freedom they deserve.
Relaxation & Calmness
Got a puppy who never stops moving? You’ll learn how to help them relax, settle, and stay calm around distractions like people, dogs, and new environments.
Focus & Manners
Teach your puppy to focus on you even around distractions, develop impulse control, and build everyday manners that make life easier at home.
Handling & Grooming
Help your puppy feel comfortable being touched, groomed, and checked over — making vet visits and daily care stress-free.
Understanding Puppy Development
Learn what to expect as your puppy grows, how to navigate the teenage phase, and how to prevent common behavioural issues before they appear.
You’ll Also Get Guidance On
- Biting and mouthing
- Toilet training success
- Building independence and preventing separation anxiety

Master Class
Loose Lead Walking
4 weeks · 1 hour per week · Small, focused classes
What if loose lead walking wasn’t some well‑kept secret?
Loose lead walking is one of those skills everyone wants… and almost everyone finds hard. It takes consistency, good timing, and (let’s be honest) a fair bit of patience. Add in all the conflicting advice online and it’s no wonder so many people feel stuck, frustrated, or unsure what to do next.
If your walks feel like:
- you walking the dog… or
- the dog walking you…
- but rarely like you’re actually walking together
this Masterclass is for you.
What this course is about
This 4‑week Loose Lead Walking Masterclass is designed to help you properly get a handle on your skills — not just follow a method and hope for the best.
We’ll break loose lead walking down into clear, manageable steps, from the foundations right through to more advanced real‑life challenges. You’ll learn why things work, how to apply them, and most importantly, you’ll get the chance to practise with guidance and feedback.
What We'll Cover
Across four weekly classes, we’ll do a deep dive into every part of nailing loose lead walking, including:
- The foundations your dog needs before loose lead walking can really work
- How to build engagement and connection on walks
- Lead handling, positioning, and timing (the details that make a big difference)
- How to progress your training without losing clarity
- Troubleshooting pulling, distractions, and frustration
- Working towards calm, controlled walking around other dogs
Each week builds on the last, so you leave with a clear plan and a strong foundation you can keep developing long after the course ends.
Who it’s for
This Masterclass is suitable for dogs of all ages and is ideal if:
- You’ve tried loose lead walking before but it never quite sticks
- You feel overwhelmed by different techniques and advice
- You want to understand the details, not just copy exercises
- You’re ready to slow things down and train with intention
Reactive or easily distracted dogs may be suitable too — if you’re unsure, it’s best to get in touch so we can chat it through and make sure this is the right fit.
Whether you’re starting from the basics or looking to level up what you already have, this course is about helping you and your dog walk together with more ease, clarity, and confidence

Roy (German Shepherd / Malinois)
Lisa's patience, clear guidance, and expertise has been amazing!
My dog is now able to remain neutral in situations that used to be overwhelming. The trainer not only worked with my dog but also took the time to teach me how to handle different scenarios with confidence. Every step of the process was explained in a way that made sense and felt achievable.
What I appreciated most was that Lisa never rushed the process and used positive reinforcement that set us up for long-term success.
If you want a trainer who truly understands dogs, Lisa at Nimbus Dogs is the best!
Cheeno (Keeshond)
Having completed puppy training classes with Lisa to then return for 1-2-1 training during adolescence was invaluable... we really don't know how we would have coped during this 'challenging' puppy phase! Lisa taught us how to handle Cheeno's energy bursts, improve his focus, recall and control his excitement when meeting other dogs. We have recommended Nimbus Dogs to all our dog parent friends and neighbours.
Roxy (Cane Corso)
Roxy has completed a number of training walks with Lisa, in and around Nonsuch Park. During the walks Lisa introduced a number of activities/techniques to encourage engagement/improve focus and provide additional stimulation in a real life setting. They have greatly helped Roxy’s socialisation and confidence building, I would definitely recommend.
Ella (Cockapoo)
Cannot recommend Lisa highly enough! She really, truly understands how dogs think, and seems to be willing and ready to take on any canine challenge.
She is kind, patient and incredibly competent, both with dogs and their owners, always working hard to find a solution to any problem presented to her.
She's been amazingly helpful for our little cockapoo who's been going through a particularly difficult time, and her support has been invaluable. Definitely check out Nimbus Dogs!
Rafa (German Shepherd)
Our boy Rafa is a large, powerful and boisterous German Shepherd and needed some recall and obedience training including walking off lead.
Lisa spent time training him, improving his recall and general behaviour and each time he came home more beautifully mannered.
Lisa (and Neal) have given brilliant advice about managing a big dog like Rafa including things like diet and home training routine.
I highly recommend Nimbus Dogs, but don’t take my word for it, try them yourselves.
August (Border Collie)
Lisa is that rare breed of dog trainer who really understands how a dog thinks and importantly, how to help owners tune into that thinking. Could not recommend her more, we had great results with her when training our high energy Border Collie August.
Even after a few sessions and following her advice we have noticed a tangible difference and we look forward to further strides forward with their guidance!
Horatio (Pomeranian)
Nimbus Dogs has been absolutely wonderful for me and my dog Horatio. Before we started, he had plenty of energy but not much focus. After working with Lisa, I’ve seen such a big difference in him, calmer, more responsive, and just generally happier.
The sessions are really well thought-out, but also relaxed and enjoyable. I especially liked that everything was tailored to Horatio and that Lisa always explained things in a way that made sense for us. The follow-ups and recaps were super helpful too, so I never felt lost in between classes.
Thanks to Nimbus Dogs, our walks are so much easier now and Horatio’s recall has improved a lot. I feel like I understand him better, and he clearly loves the training.
I’d definitely recommend them to anyone who wants to build a better connection with their dog.
Nancy (Jack Russell Terrier)
We have worked with Lisa on a number of occasions and would highly recommend her services. Lisa is engaging, thorough and friendly and offers to really solid advice to train your dogs. Thank you Lisa!
