During this informal session, your puppy can safely socialise with others of a similar age, and you’ll get a feel for how I teach and what Nimbus Dogs classes are all about.

You’ll also have time to ask questions about your puppy’s behaviour, training, or anything else you’re finding tricky at home.
Think of it as your puppy’s first friendly step into the world of good manners, confidence, and calm.
 If you haven’t picked up your puppy yet, but would still like to come along, that’s great too, come and have a chat and see how we do things and get a feel for us. 

Puppy Hour is suitable for all fully vaccinated puppies, up to 5 months old

Dog Training Workshop

Recall

Having a strong recall is fundamental to ensure your dog will always return to you, regardless of the distraction. If having your dog off-lead is a concern as his/her recall is a bit ‘hit or miss’ then this dog training workshop will give you the techniques to strengthen their recall.

  • Does your dog listen really well when you’re at home or in the garden but as soon as you leave the house it’s a bit SO-SO?
  • Does your dog listen really well until other dogs are in your vicinity?
  • Does your dog respond really well to their recall until they get a scent of something exciting?
  • What about when your dog sees horses/runners/deer/cyclists?
  • Do you no longer feel like you can let your dog off lead because everything else seems to be tempting them?
If you answered 'Yes' to any of these scenarios then our Recall Workshop is for you

In this workshop you will learn how to make recall fun for you and your dog so they want to come back to you with loads of enthusiasm regardless of what distraction might be tempting them. 

I will teach you how to incorporate fun games into your recall training, making reliable recall a habit that they form through consistent training.

You’ll learn how to build recall your dog actually enjoys, every time! Not just when it’s easy, but when it really counts. We’ll focus on making recall fun and consistent, using simple games that help your dog choose to come back, even when distractions are extremely tempting.

The goal? A dog that’s confident off lead, and a relationship that keeps them wanting to come back to you, every time.

This workshop is designed for any dog over the age of 6 months. 

Reactive dogs are welcome as we have plenty of space but please get in touch prior to booking so we can discuss your individual needs and assess suitability.

Dog Training Workshop

Prepare for Firework Season

This workshop is ideal if you have a young dog who hasn’t yet experienced their first fireworks season, or if it’s their second season and they were very young the first time around.

During this workshop, you’ll learn practical strategies for management and play to help set your dog up for success when firework season begins.

Fireworks can be frightening for dogs. They’re loud, unpredictable, and the season often feels like it goes on forever. This workshop will help you build your dog’s confidence around these scary sounds and equip them with skills to make the experience more manageable for both of you

Suitable for dogs of all ages, with a particular focus on adolescent dogs.

Dog Training Workshop

Focus & Engagement

As puppies and dogs mature, they often go through phases of ignoring you, and become easily distracted (particularly during dog adolescence). This dog training workshop will equip you with the skills to enhance your dog’s focus despite what is going on around them.

  • Has your dog recently entered adolescence and has now forgotten everything and especially you??
  • Does your dog forget who he/she is and has suddenly gone completely deaf as soon as you enter the park?
  • Does your dog struggle to pay any attention to you whilst on a walk?
  • Does he/she spend more time with their nose to the ground than think about you?
  • Does your dog find life a little overwhelming and he/she forgets you exist?
  • Is your dog generally great until you see another dog, and you become invisible?
  • Is your dog generally Is your dog easily distracted by anything in the environment?great until you see another dog, and you become invisible?
If you answered 'Yes' to any of these scenarios then our Focus & Engagement Workshop is for you

We will work on your training ‘FUN’damentals and give you an opportunity to practise skills alongside other dogs in a relaxed but real environment in the park. You will learn to strengthen your dogs name recognition, eye contact in challenging environment. We will play games and put your dogs focus on YOU! After attending this workshop you will have plenty of tools to take home and practise.

The two hour session will include some doggy breaks.

A written recap will be provided at the end of the session so you can continue to practise at home.

This workshop is designed for any dog over the age of 6 months.

Cheeno (Keeshond)

Having completed puppy training classes with Lisa to then return for 1-2-1 training during adolescence was invaluable... we really don't know how we would have coped during this 'challenging' puppy phase! Lisa taught us how to handle Cheeno's energy bursts, improve his focus, recall and control his excitement when meeting other dogs. We have recommended Nimbus Dogs to all our dog parent friends and neighbours.

Roxy (Cane Corso)

Roxy has completed a number of training walks with Lisa, in and around Nonsuch Park. During the walks Lisa introduced a number of activities/techniques to encourage engagement/improve focus and provide additional stimulation in a real life setting. They have greatly helped Roxy’s socialisation and confidence building, I would definitely recommend.

Ella (Cockapoo)

Cannot recommend Lisa highly enough! She really, truly understands how dogs think, and seems to be willing and ready to take on any canine challenge.

She is kind, patient and incredibly competent, both with dogs and their owners, always working hard to find a solution to any problem presented to her.

She's been amazingly helpful for our little cockapoo who's been going through a particularly difficult time, and her support has been invaluable. Definitely check out Nimbus Dogs!

Rafa (German Shepherd)

Our boy Rafa is a large, powerful and boisterous German Shepherd and needed some recall and obedience training including walking off lead.

Lisa spent time training him, improving his recall and general behaviour and each time he came home more beautifully mannered.

Lisa (and Neal) have given brilliant advice about managing a big dog like Rafa including things like diet and home training routine.

I highly recommend Nimbus Dogs, but don’t take my word for it, try them yourselves.

Lisa is that rare breed of dog trainer who really understands how a dog thinks and importantly, how to help owners tune into that thinking. Could not recommend her more, we had great results with her when training our high energy Border Collie August.

Horatio (Pomeranian)

Nimbus Dogs has been absolutely wonderful for me and my dog Horatio. Before we started, he had plenty of energy but not much focus. After working with Lisa, I’ve seen such a big difference in him, calmer, more responsive, and just generally happier.

The sessions are really well thought-out, but also relaxed and enjoyable. I especially liked that everything was tailored to Horatio and that Lisa always explained things in a way that made sense for us. The follow-ups and recaps were super helpful too, so I never felt lost in between classes.

Thanks to Nimbus Dogs, our walks are so much easier now and Horatio’s recall has improved a lot. I feel like I understand him better, and he clearly loves the training.

I’d definitely recommend them to anyone who wants to build a better connection with their dog.
